Tim McTague of Underoath, joins today to discuss the philosophy behind music and art. What music is art or not, and is it ok to call a song not good or not even art? How does having a live audience effect the way music is received and experienced, whether through altering the music itself, engaging with the crowd, or encouraging participation to create energy and vibe? Does that make live music more important or more of an art than recorded music?

This is one fun tune.  Built off of a a 2 measure guitar loop, this track uses alternate harmonizations and time signatures to make the different sections of the song be distinct. To the Deep. If there was a song that we were gonna send or work to radio on this album, this would be it.  It’s catchy and has a big chorus that repeats, and has the classic verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus format.  BUT, we dont give a shit about radio and didn’t make this song that way on purpose, it just turned out that way.  It is Dave, our drummer’s favorite song, has no screaming, and is track seven on our new album, You Were Never Alone.
