Melanie Studley of the new podcast by Stronger Marriages joins this week. Her and Matt talk about how she got started podcasting and how the Stronger Marriages Podcast was a perfect fit for her skills and experience with her almost-failed marriage. She's had to learn audio engineering later in life, but why aren't there more women in engineering and podcasting?

Dan Carlin of Hardcore History joins Matt tonight! They talk about the process of mastering podcasting, how to cypher through the mosaic of news out there today, and their common views on politics. They were both right about what Trump would be like, but what they got wrong was how America would respond to him. Is it possible to change large systems like the government? They also discuss flashpoints in history, the future of teachers, and what studying history may look like in the future.

Wolves At The Gate's Stephen Cobucci joins Matt Carter to break down a few demos from their new album "Types & Shadows." They discuss the interesting theory that the artists you looked up to probably don't like the music you make, and you probably won't like your progeny's music either. That also gets them into motives behind music, making art for the love of the music, versus the desire to be in a band, and what that does to the art itself.

Super Bowl 50 Champ Tyler Polumbus joins this week to break down the inner workings of the NFL. We talk about things only an insider would know. How even when you make $300,000 a year, it's easy to end up bankrupt and divorced. What's it like having no control over where you're traded, and how do the best quarter backs in the league treat their offensive team?

Matt's good friend Phil Sneed joins him to reminisce on past tours they've had together, which gets them into how politician's "locker room talk" must not be the same as green room talk. Story of the Year is one of Emery's favorite bands they've toured with, and Matt finally knows why.

Dan Koch (Sherwood, Pacific Gold) joins Matt in studio for a discussion 100% about The Donald Trump. They debate on whether Trump is just a blithering idiot who made it this far out of pure chance, or if he's a master political strategist. This week on the Break it Down podcast, Matt's joined by podcaster and libertarian Jason Stapleton. They discuss Matt's trip to the DMV, Donald Trump vs Hilary Clinton, millennials, government policies, and what we could or could not do without the government.
